The Cruden Group, one of the largest, independently owned, Scottish based, construction and development businesses, was formed in 1943 and is owned by Cruden Foundation Limited, a registered charity which has donated approximately £2.6 million to Scottish based charities to date.

Historically, the Group has built or modernised over 120,000 houses, together with a number of hospitals, university buildings, factories, schools, offices, and shopping centres. Consequently, we have extensive experience of working with local authorities, Government bodies and the Private Sector. Quality and reliability are the by-words for the Group and this is reflected in the strength of our reputation. The Group's construction companies, Cruden Building & Renewals and Hart Builders (Edinburgh), employ approximately 500 direct site employees and the strength of our retained workforce enables us to produce consistent premium quality work.

The Group has grown significantly in recent years, with turnover now in excess of £100 million. Cruden Estates and Cruden Homes (East), the Group's housing development companies , are major contributors to this growth, with combined sales of approximately 300 homes each year, marketed under the Cruden Homes brand.

To achieve this growth, we have extended our involvement in projects requiring innovative financial structures and joint ventures. In addition, the Group's operational holding company, Cruden Investments, has invested in companies in other industry sectors to create a more diverse portfolio of business interests.
